The exhibition enjoys a high level of attention from the Vietnamese government and the spotlight of all sectors of society. It is one of the two largest exhibitions in Vietnam in terms of scale, influence and degree of internationalization, and its influence within Vietnam is comparable to that of the Canton Fair in China. It is held in Hanoi every year and has been successfully held 29 times so far. The exhibition is of great significance to the oriented development of Vietnam's economy, bringing good business opportunities to exhibitors at home and abroad in economic cooperation, technology transfer, investment, trade negotiation, import and export, product agency and various other businesses. It is the best platform for centralized exchange and cooperation among domestic and foreign exhibitors, trade agencies, economic organizations and investors.

According to statistics from the Vietnamese organizer: the previous exhibition covered an area of more than 12,000 square meters, with about 500 exhibitors from Vietnam and abroad, of which foreign enterprises accounted for 35% and Vietnamese enterprises 65%. Participating countries and regions: enterprises from more than 20 countries and regions, including China, South Korea, France, the UK, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Russia, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao of China, took part in the exhibition and conducted multilateral trade negotiations. About 20,000 professional business visitors and about 40,000 public visitors attended, and the transaction value reached about USD 200 million.

Vietnam market background:

On January 1, 2010, the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area was fully established, with 90% of products to achieve zero tariffs. The import and export volume between China and ASEAN countries will show a growth of 500%. By then, the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area will become a huge market with 2 billion consumers, USD 1.2 trillion in trade and USD 6 trillion in total GDP, becoming the world's third largest free trade area after North America and the EU. A huge market will bring you unlimited business opportunities!

Vietnam has a population of more than 96 million and is a country dominated by agriculture, with agricultural output accounting for 40% of GDP, and agricultural products make up a very large proportion of its exports. More than 80 kinds of Vietnamese food have entered the highly competitive US market. In 2005, the output of some products in Vietnam's food industry was: beer: 1.2 billion liters; spirits: 250 million liters; beverages: 800 million liters; coffee: 900,000 tonnes; tea: 150,000 tonnes; dairy products: 547,300 liters; edible oil: 663,000 tonnes; aquatic products: 200,000 tonnes; agricultural products: 37.5 million tonnes.

For several years, Vietnam has focused its economic development on food and the food industry, and along with the food and food processing industry it has gradually established and developed animal husbandry and aquaculture, achieving diversified development of the processing industry. For example, it moderately develops the further processing of meat, milk, fishery and aquatic products, vegetables, fruits, sugar cane and other products to meet the needs of the domestic and export markets. Although Vietnam's imports are growing larger and larger, Vietnam has now become the world's second largest rice exporter, with export value growing rapidly every year, a large part of which comes from agricultural products, food and consumer goods. Therefore, Vietnam's demand for the development of the food packaging industry, the processing industry and the complete processing equipment industry is becoming more and more urgent.

Vietnam is now in urgent need of introducing machinery and equipment for the processing industry and increasing investment in related supporting industries, especially in the food and food processing industry, where the government encourages the use of local resources to carry out deep processing of various agricultural and sideline products and to increase export added value. For example, Vietnam is rich in fruit, with an annual output of more than 3.8 million tonnes, but Vietnam's fruit processing technology is backward, exports are still dominated by fresh fruit, the added value is low, and losses during transportation are relatively large. To solve this problem, Vietnam plans to import a batch of processing equipment and build a number of fruit processing plants, raising processing capacity from the current 100,000 tonnes/year to 700,000 tonnes/year.

At the same time, the Vietnamese government also encourages foreign investors, especially Chinese entrepreneurs, to invest in the fruit processing industry and offers preferential policies. Industry insiders believe that Chinese enterprises can consider exporting production technology and processing equipment to Vietnam, or investing in the establishment of fruit processing plants in Vietnam, bringing in equipment and technology and using local raw materials to produce fresh juice, canned food, candy and other series of products. With the development of Vietnam's food industry, the demand for various food processing equipment such as slicing machines, baking machinery, mixers, filling machines and various food production lines and complete sets of equipment will increase day by day. It is reported that at present Vietnam mainly imports such products from Japan, Europe and the United States, while Chinese products are more competitive in terms of price and quality.

At the same time, with the expansion of Vietnam's share of agricultural product exports, Vietnam's processing industry, especially the packaging and printing industry, is in urgent need of investment and development to meet the growing development needs of the food and food processing industry at home and abroad.

Along with the continuous improvement of the living standards of the Vietnamese people, the import demand of Vietnam's food and beverage market is growing rapidly, and there is strong awareness of Chinese food such as dairy products, candy, instant food and soft drinks. In just a few years, it has attracted many Chinese enterprises to explore this market, and they have achieved good results.
