Jinzhou Printing and Packaging Industry Collective Labor Consultation in Liaoning Yields Encouraging Results

Published:2021-08-18 · Industry News

Recently, the 2021 collective consultation of the printing and packaging industry of Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province, was held in the meeting room on the fourth floor of the Municipal Federation of Trade Unions. Meng Jun, vice chairman of the Jinzhou Municipal Federation of Trade Unions, Huang Wei, director of the Labor Relations Division of the Jinzhou Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, and Zhou Chen, director of the Organization and Democratic Management Department of the Jinzhou Municipal Federation of Trade Unions, attended the meeting, along with more than 30 people including representatives of both employers and employees in the printing and packaging industry and chairpersons of grassroots trade unions. The meeting was chaired by Shi Liang, chief representative of the employee side.

During nearly two hours of friendly consultation, the two sides reached consensus on four topics - "raising the wage standards for employee positions; signing labor and service contracts in accordance with laws and regulations; caring for employee health, strengthening labor protection and improving employee benefits" - and achieved gratifying results.

Raising employee position wages

Based on the results of an earlier questionnaire survey, the employee side proposed a general increase of 200 yuan in the monthly wage for each employee position.

Jiao Wei, chairman of Jinzhou Guanghua Printing Co., Ltd., said that employees are the precious wealth of an enterprise, that enterprises must retain employees and find a balance between enterprise interests and employee interests, and that incentive policies should be adopted for employees. He fully agreed with the employee side's proposal, adding that units in better condition should raise wages more for employees to protect their enthusiasm for loving their jobs and dedicating themselves to their work.

Signing "labor and service contracts" in accordance with laws and regulations

Huang Wei, director of the Labor Relations Division of the Jinzhou Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, explained the policies on the Labor Contract and the Service Contract, which not only clarified the differences between the two contracts for both sides but also gave everyone a new understanding of how to sign them and the benefits of each party holding a copy. Leaders on the employer side unanimously said that after the meeting they would carefully check and promptly sign any contracts that had not yet been signed.

Strengthening labor protection and caring for employee health

Jiang Tiejun, deputy general manager for administration of Jinzhou Jinri Paper Co., Ltd., responding to the topic of caring for employee health, said this is what the employer side should do, and that investment in labor protection should be increased to ensure the quantity and quality of labor protection supplies, putting employee health first.

Increasing benefits and raising the employee happiness index

When discussing the topic of improving employee benefits, company executives offered suggestions one after another so that employees could truly feel the care and warmth of the enterprise. Representatives of the employee side said that the enterprise's care for employees warms their hearts, and that trade union organizations at all levels should lead the broad ranks of employees to be of one heart and one mind with the enterprise, pool their strength, overcome difficulties together, and repay the enterprise and society with outstanding work performance.

Meng Jun, vice chairman of the Municipal Federation of Trade Unions, pointed out that most enterprises in the printing and packaging industry have few employees, and that targeted employee training should be carried out in light of industry characteristics to improve employees' skills and techniques. On the one hand, employees gain something; on the other hand, it can also improve enterprise efficiency, thereby stabilizing employee employment, promoting enterprise development, and contributing to social stability!
