In recent years, Yuhuangmiao Town in Shanghe County has, by integrating and optimizing resource allocation and vigorously introducing upstream, downstream and linked industry chains, established an industrial cluster with the Jinan Printing and Packaging Industrial Park at its core, ten province-leading large printing and packaging production enterprises as flagships, and 26 printing and packaging enterprises gathered together.

To further give play to the clustering effect and raise the brand influence of the distinctive printing and packaging industry, this year the town started construction of the Jinan Printing and Packaging Industrial Park project, with a total investment of 1 billion yuan, covering 240.74 mu and a total building area of about 200,000 square metres.

This largest printing and packaging industrial park in Shandong is located west of Yuhuang Road and north of Qingyuan Street, and consists of six sub-projects—Zhongtuo, Hecheng, Quanxing, Boyang, Huayuan and Zhongteng—with 24 individual buildings including production workshops, R&D centres and exhibition centres. Products include degradable fast food boxes, degradable shopping bags, puncture-resistant heavy-duty packaging, colour printing and packaging, water-based ink printing and packaging, and premium box packaging.

"Our goal is to acquire the land, start construction, begin production and be included in the statistical scope all within the same year; after production starts we expect annual output value of 1 billion yuan and more than 1,000 jobs," Li Xiaoyu said, adding that with the Jinan Printing and Packaging Industrial Park at its core the town will strive to build a first-class printing and packaging industrial base in Shandong Province, and further build the largest printing and packaging town in Shandong and even in the area north of the Yangtze.
