China Adds About 650,000 Tonnes of Annual Papermaking Capacity from Newly Commissioned Lines in July 2022

About 650,000 tons of new annual papermaking capacity released in China in July 2022

In July, 6 pulp and paper enterprises in China started up a total of 7 new paper machine production lines, newly releasing about 650,000 tons/year of base paper capacity.

Among the 7 newly commissioned paper machine production lines, 3 were tissue paper production lines with a capacity of 70,000 tons/year; 2 were corrugated base paper production lines with a capacity of 170,000 tons; 1 was a gray board paper production line with a capacity of about 110,000 tons/year; and 1 was a high-grade coated white card production line with a capacity of 300,000 tons/year.

On July 2, a packaging paper production line of Guangxi Fangsheng Paper Co., Ltd. successfully produced paper in a trial run. This paper machine line has a net paper width of 3,900 mm and a design speed of 300 m/min; it mainly uses waste paper as raw material to produce corrugated base paper, with a designed annual capacity of 70,000 tons.

On July 10, the sixth high-speed tissue paper machine TM6 of Guangxi Zhihu Yunshang Industrial Co., Ltd. was smoothly started up and put into production. The machine equipment was a crescent-type high-grade tissue paper production line provided by Foshan Nanhai Baotuo Papermaking Equipment Co., Ltd., with a net paper width of 4,200 mm and a design speed of 1,500 m/min; it mainly uses local Guangxi wet-pulp mix to produce 11-12 gsm e-commerce base paper, with a single-machine capacity of up to 30,000 tons/year.

The smooth commissioning of this machine marks the perfect completion of Baotuo paper machines in Guangxi Zhihu's Phase II project. The company's total tissue base paper capacity reached 150,000 tons, achieving an annual output value of 1 billion yuan and taxes and profits of 60 million yuan.

On July 10, the recycled paper production upgrading and renovation project of Suizhou Yongxing Recycled Paper Co., Ltd. was smoothly put into production. This production line has a paper machine wire width of 4,200 mm and a design speed of 300 m/min; it mainly uses waste paper as raw material to produce 300-650 gsm high-grade gray board paper, with a single-machine designed capacity of 350 tons/day.

The TM3 and TM4 machines of Guigang Longpai Industrial Group Co., Ltd.'s annual-production-300,000-ton tissue paper project were smoothly started up and produced paper on July 10 and July 13 respectively. The paper machine lines are both crescent-type high-speed tissue machines provided by Baotuo, with a net paper width of 2,850 mm and a design speed of 1,300 m/min, with a single-machine annual capacity of about 20,000 tons.

On July 12, a startup ceremony was held for the first-phase project of Shihezi Guoliyuan Environmental Protection Pulp Making Co., Ltd. The project invested 264 million yuan and mainly uses the abundant local cotton stalk fiber raw material to build a clean pulp production line with a high yield of 150,000 tons/year of cotton stalk and one high-grade packaging paper production line. The paper machine line is a domestic packaging paper machine that uses self-produced cotton stalk fiber pulp to produce high-grade corrugated base paper, with an annual capacity of 100,000 tons.

On July 19, Dezhou Taiding New Material Technology Co., Ltd.'s annual-production-300,000-ton coated white card paper old-to-new growth-driver conversion project was successfully started up in one go; this was the company's first white card production line. The project is the paper machine of the company's original No. 8 workshop, with a width of 4,800 mm and a speed of 600 m/min, which previously could produce about 100,000 tons of high-strength corrugated base paper per year.

On the basis of this production line, the new project upgraded the system equipment in the original production workshop and introduced currently internationally advanced process equipment and automation control technology, greatly guaranteeing product quality, further enriching product varieties, raising product grade and enhancing the enterprise's competitiveness.
