LyondellBasell is one of the world's leading companies in plastics, chemicals and refining, and its products, materials and technologies are advancing sustainable solutions in more than 100 international markets, including food safety, clean water use, healthcare and fuel efficiency. Leveraging its strengths in raw materials, operations and technology, LyondellBasell launched the Circulen series of products, among which CirculenRecover polypropylene polymer is made by mechanically recycling post-consumer plastic waste, helping to reduce plastic waste entering the environment, thereby promoting the circular economy and enhancing the sustainable value of consumer products.
The recycled plastic packaging pail that Nippon Paint and LyondellBasell cooperated on is precisely made using CirculenRecover polypropylene polymer; through an efficient recycling process for plastic waste, it achieves a lower carbon footprint, offering a recycled-plastic product that combines sustainability with high quality, giving plastic waste a "second life". At the ChinaReplas2022 Third Plastics Recycling and Regeneration Golden Apple Awards, Nippon Paint won the "Golden Apple" Award for Innovative Application of Recycled Materials with this packaging pail, receiving unanimous recognition from the expert judges in terms of both environmental and commercial benefits. With the continued advancement of the strategic cooperation, Nippon Paint will expand the application of this green and eco-friendly plastic packaging in coating-system products, giving more products a "green new coat".
