International oil prices edged slightly higher on Monday as investors expected the phase-one trade agreement announced by China and the United States last Friday to boost energy demand, though prices remained below the three-month high reached in the previous trading session.

January WTI crude oil futures closed 0.14 US dollars, or 0.2%, higher at 60.21 US dollars per barrel. February Brent crude oil futures closed 0.12 US dollars, or 0.2%, higher at 65.34 US dollars per barrel.

The market was mostly stable yesterday with localized adjustments. Linear futures rose slightly, and traders adjusted their offers in line with the market, with some quotations moving up marginally. Downstream factories were hard to motivate to purchase, their enthusiasm for entering the market was limited, and demand follow-through was weak. Downstream factories showed no improvement in taking delivery and continued to purchase on a need basis to maintain normal production. T30S quoted at 8,000 yuan/tonne; the Linyi market operated at low levels, with Baofeng K8003 quoted at 8,750 yuan/tonne; the Lanzhou market edged lower, with Ningxia T30S at 7,800 yuan/tonne.

The market operated with a slightly firmer tone yesterday. Polyester raw material

Market reference: reference prices for water bottle material in the South China market were 6,600-6,700 yuan/tonne; reference prices for water bottle material in the East China market were around 6,550-6,650 yuan/tonne.

PET waste recycling

Market prices changed little overall yesterday. Winter reduced material recovery, and the supply of recycled bottle flakes gradually tightened, supporting market prices, with the recycled market showing a slightly firmer trend. Sales of downstream recycled chemical fiber were average, and producers purchased raw materials cautiously; market trading was acceptable, with most firm deals subject to detailed negotiation. Market reference: in the East China market, machine-use white flakes imitating large-scale chemical fiber were at

around 5,100 yuan/tonne, tax excluded.
