Congratulatory Message from Lin Hua, President of the Zhejiang Provincial Packaging Technology Association, at the Founding Conference
Distinguished leaders, guests, and friends:
Good morning, everyone! Today, the E-commerce Committee of the China Packaging Federation is officially established. As a representative of the provincial and municipal packaging associations, I would like to congratulate the establishment of the E-commerce Committee and extend a warm welcome to all the packaging industry colleagues who have come from afar.
At present, Zhejiang Province's internet economy is developing with strong momentum. Our province is currently one of the regions with the highest concentration of e-commerce in China, and it is home to the world's largest e-commerce trading platform. There are more than one million online stores of various kinds, more than 50 e-commerce industrial parks, and more than three million market entities. According to statistics, in 2013 Zhejiang's e-commerce transaction volume exceeded 1.6 trillion yuan, accounting for one sixth of that of mainland China. Zhejiang is actively exploring innovative models of internet finance, the e-commerce industry chain is continuously extending and becoming more and more complete, and the internet economy is gradually becoming the driving force for Zhejiang's transformation and upgrading and a major hub for adjusting its structural advantages.
As a representative of China's traditional industries, the packaging industry occupies an important position in the structure of China's economic system, and it is also an important lifeline supporting Zhejiang's economic development. Against the backdrop of the state's advocacy of the integration of industrialization and informatization, and with the rapid development of the internet economy today, the traditional packaging industry is facing the issue of transformation and upgrading. Following the establishment of China's first "Internet Economy Development Bureau", the Ministry of Commerce awarded Jinhua the title of one of the first batch of "National E-commerce Demonstration Bases". Jinhua is also an important window for the opening-up of the central Zhejiang economy, and the Jinhua Development Zone has already begun to build the "Central Zhejiang Internet Economy Center". I think it is precisely because the China Packaging Federation has seen the vigorous development momentum of Jinhua's internet economy that it decided to seize the opportunity and locate the E-commerce Committee in Jinhua.
The official establishment of the E-commerce Committee has built a platform for the transformation and upgrading of traditional packaging enterprises. As an important institution serving the packaging industry and helping traditional enterprises promote the application of e-commerce, the E-commerce Committee bears a heavy responsibility. Next, the Zhejiang Packaging Technology Association will, as a strategic partner, form a "fraternal alliance" with the E-commerce Committee and carry out close cooperation in many fields such as application promotion, communication and exchange, academic discussions, and product research and development, jointly supporting the transformation and upgrading of the packaging industry.
Shortly after the E-commerce Committee received approval for its establishment, the Zhejiang Packaging Technology Association and China Packaging Network jointly established the Zhejiang Packaging Industry E-commerce Training Center. This is the first step taken by the provincial packaging association to promote e-commerce development and help enterprises transform and upgrade. The training center will base itself on the needs of the integrated development of industrialization and informatization in the packaging industry, focus on training practical e-commerce talent and corporate e-commerce management personnel, set up relevant majors and courses, and advance the building of Zhejiang's e-commerce talent system.
In the future, the provincial packaging association will fully support the follow-up work of the E-commerce Committee. We hope the E-commerce Committee can help traditional packaging enterprises break out of their transformation predicament, lead traditional enterprises into the wave of e-commerce development, and boost healthier and faster development of the packaging economy!
