Nine Dragons Paper Orders Three Voith Paper Machines as Smart Packaging Southwest Headquarters Project Targets End-of-June Production Start
Recently, papermaking equipment manufacturer Voith announced that
Nine Dragons Paper has ordered three XcelLine packaging paper machines from Voith to produce high-strength kraft linerboard and white-top kraft linerboard.
Nine Dragons Paper is China's largest packaging paper producer, and the release of capacity from the three new production lines will further consolidate its leading position in the packaging paper field.
The three paper machines are scheduled to start up between 2022 and 2023.
The three machines ordered this time have the same specifications,
with a single-machine daily output of up to 2,400 tons and a design speed of 1,400 m/min.
Calculated on this basis,
the maximum annual capacity of a single machine can reach 800,000 tons.
To meet the customer's high-standard production requirements, each component of the paper machines must have extremely high performance and strength. To achieve stable production of high-grammage products at high machine speeds, Voith equipped the wire section with a DuoFormer D II E top-former. The press section adopts a triple-nip press design concept to ensure outstanding surface smoothness for white-top kraft linerboard. The paper machines use a double-unwind stand and fully automatic reel-changing configuration, and the high-performance TwinDrive double-unwind winder can achieve fast and efficient rewinding, ensuring capacity 20% higher than conventional winders.
Voith did not disclose which of Nine Dragons Paper's plants the three machines will be installed in. According to publicly available information,
Nine Dragons Paper has new papermaking projects planned for its Jingzhou, Hubei; Beihai, Guangxi; and Shenyang, Liaoning plants.
Beyond ordering paper machines to increase output and further consolidate its market leadership, Nine Dragons Intelligent Packaging's Southwest headquarters project has also entered the trial production stage, committed to building a smart premium packaging manufacturing base built to Industry 4.0 standards
