In recent years, people's living standards have been continuously improving, and most people focus their attention on the safety of plastic packaging. With the continuous development of materials and processing technology, plastic flexible packaging plays an increasingly important role in many fields, and at present, the colorization of plastic flexible packaging film has also become one of the important development trends.

Plastic flexible packaging can meet the diverse protection requirements of commodities and significantly improve the shelf life of food; the packaging process is simple, and it is convenient to operate and use; it provides packaging forms with affinity; it saves packaging costs and transportation costs; and it has advantages such as low resource and energy consumption and environmental friendliness.

Today, more and more of the liquid/semi-liquid, powdered and solid foods of our daily consumption are packaged in plastic. Relevant data show that in 2008 the plastic flexible packaging market of the food industry in Southeast Asia reached a scale of USD 1.414 billion, and it is expected to grow to USD 2.023 billion by 2015, with an average annual growth rate of 6.7%. It can be seen that as plastic flexible packaging is used more and more in the food industry, plastic flexible packaging will become the mainstream of food packaging in the future.

The development trend of plastic flexible packaging film is very obvious, and many enterprises, in conjunction with product structure adjustment, are accelerating the pace of large-scale production. On the whole, China's flexible packaging industry has formed its own basic industrial chain. Moreover, high value-added products are emerging one after another.

The green development path of flexible packaging: BOPP plastic film is a very important flexible packaging material. BOPP plastic film is colorless, odorless, tasteless and non-toxic, and has high tensile strength, impact strength, rigidity, toughness and good transparency. However, it also has problems such as being prone to accumulating static electricity, having no heat-sealing property, being difficult to recycle and being prone to contamination.

On the basis of its previous emphasis on quality and efficiency, China's flexible packaging industry now pays more attention to energy saving, consumption reduction, emission reduction and safety. Therefore, we must pay attention to strengthening technology to solve the problem that BOPP plastic film is prone to contamination. For plastic flexible packaging to achieve substantial development, it is necessary to improve production technology and reduce the use of raw materials.

With the rapid development of the modern food industry, plastic flexible packaging has become the main way of food packaging. As flexible packaging gradually becomes the leading material for food packaging and the whole society pays increasing attention to food safety, the hygiene and safety of plastic flexible packaging has increasingly become the focus of everyone's attention. Among these, the main hygiene and safety issues of food flexible packaging include the toxicity of monomers in packaging resin materials and the excessive residual amounts of solvents such as inks, adhesives and additives.
