GAPP Approves Release of Two Printing Standards

Published:2021-04-16 · Industry News

Recently, the General Administration of Press and Publication approved the release of two printing industry standards: CY/T92-2013 'Requirements for the Control of the Cardboard Bonding Process of Cardboard Children's Books and Testing Methods' and CY/T93-2013 'Quality Requirements and Inspection Methods for Technical Printing Self-Adhesive Labels'. Both newly promulgated industry standards take effect from the date of promulgation.

According to a report by a Beijing packaging company, the domestic Printing Standardization Technical Committee held the founding meeting of the drafting group for the industry standard 'Requirements for the Control of the Cardboard Bonding Process of Cardboard Children's Books and Testing Methods' in Heshan City, Guangdong Province on February 23, 2011. More than 10 experts and technicians from Heshan, Dongguan and Zhuhai attended the meeting. The meeting studied and determined the composition of the drafting units, set up the standard drafting group, and determined the writer.

Taking into account that books in the current gift box category are mainly children's books, the meeting decided to take cardboard children's books as the main research direction for the cardboard bonding process control standard, and set the title of the standard as 'Requirements for the Control of the Cardboard Bonding Process of Cardboard Children's Books and Testing Methods'. The research meeting conducted extensive discussion on the framework structure, content, raw materials, testing methods and technology under the standard model. The first draft of the drafting group's draft was planned to be completed by the end of June 2011. The first working meeting of the drafting group would be held in Zhuhai in July 2011, and Heshan provided strong support for the meeting.

The packaging company in Heshan, as one of the 8 printing standardization experimental base enterprises in the printing field, has, since jointly establishing the 'National Packaging Printing Standardization Research and Technology Promotion Base' with the National Printing Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC170) in 2006, invested a great deal of manpower and material resources in participating in the formulation and completion of three national standards - 'Process Control and Testing Methods for Laminating Paper Printed Matter Part 3: Water-Based Adhesive Immediate-Coating Dry Lamination', 'Graphic Technology - Prepress Digital Data Exchange - Use of PDF Part 1: Complete Exchange of CMYK Data (PDF/X-1 and PDF/X-1a)' and 'Graphic Technology - Prepress Digital Data Exchange - Use of PDF Part 3: Complete Exchange in a Color-Managed Workflow (PDF/X-3)' - as well as the 'Table of the Printing Standards System'.

At present, Heshan Astros Printing Ltd. is also participating in the formulation of four national standards: 'Post-Press Binding - Hardcover', 'Tea Packaging Boxes', 'Basic Requirements for Post-Press Processing' and 'Classification of Post-Press Processing Materials'.
