This coupling gel pouch supplied for hospital ultrasound departments uses a spout format with a volume range of 1-50G, its body a laminate of aluminium foil and metallized film. Gels are viscous and flow poorly, and squeeze dispensing through a spout matches that behaviour, letting clinical staff control how much is dispensed per examination.

In the laminate the aluminium foil layer does the barrier work and the metallized layer helps block light, while the inner heat-seal film forms a complete seal at the spout root and along the pouch seams.
