January WTI crude oil futures rose 0.89 US dollars, or 1.5%, to settle at 60.07 US dollars per barrel. February Brent crude oil futures rose 1.02 US dollars, or 1.6%, to settle at 65.22 US dollars per barrel.

Market reference: quotations in the Hebei market were stable, with calcium carbide process
Type 5 material at 6,370-6,420 yuan/tonne delivered, tax excluded; quotations were lowered in the Guangzhou market, with mainstream quotations for ordinary calcium carbide material at 7,280-7,380 yuan/tonne; the Hangzhou market consolidated slightly, with Type 5 calcium carbide material in the range of 7,100-7,200 yuan/tonne.

Supported by the oscillating yet firmer new material market, washing plants followed suit and tested higher prices, withdrawing from low prices.
