Packaging Industry Shrink Wrapping Machine Standard to Take Effect Next July
According to the 2009 No. 13 (Total No. 153) Announcement on the Publication of National Standards of the People's Republic of China, the national standard "Shrink Wrapping Machine" (GB/T 24709-2009) was published on 15 November 2009 and formally came into force on 1 July 2010. The standard was organised and drawn up by the National Packaging Machinery Standardisation Technical Committee.
The standard specifies the terms and definitions, models, types and basic parameters, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, as well as marking, packaging, transport and storage requirements for shrink wrapping machines. It applies to all kinds of shrink wrapping machines that use heat-shrink film for shrink wrapping other than flame heating, and is used in the pharmaceutical, food, daily chemical, fine chemical, building materials, stationery, hardware and electrical appliance, and tobacco industries.
The standard mainly covers the following content: the classification of structural types of shrink wrapping machines; requirements for the temperature adjustment range and the heating performance of the heating device; requirements for the thermal stability and heat recovery performance of the tunnel temperature; requirements for temperature error control inside the tunnel; requirements for the temperature on the outside of the tunnel; requirements for film sealing and cutting length error; requirements for the damage rate of the packaged materials; requirements for the qualified rate of packages; and requirements for the materials and components, appearance quality, electrical safety and safety protection of shrink wrapping machines. It also specifies test methods for each performance indicator.
After the national standard "Shrink Wrapping Machine" (GB/T 24709-2009) was published and implemented, it has provided equipment manufacturers and all relevant parties with a basis for producing shrink wrapping machines and a criterion for measuring equipment quality. It will guide and regulate the development of the domestic shrink wrapping machine industry, is of positive significance for improving general-purpose and series production of such equipment and economic benefits, and will promote the healthy and orderly development of the industry.
