Zhu Hong, a senior statistician of the Department of Industry of the National Bureau of Statistics, said in interpreting the industrial enterprise profit data that in the first quarter, macro policies were implemented in a scientific and targeted manner, the achievements in coordinating epidemic prevention and control with economic and social development were further consolidated and expanded, the industrial economy continued to recover, enterprise production and operation improved steadily, profits continued to recover rapidly, operating efficiency kept improving, and a good start was achieved. Profits grew across industries, with nearly 40% of industries doubling their profits. The raw material manufacturing industry played an obvious role in driving industrial profit growth. The equipment manufacturing industry and high-tech manufacturing industry maintained good growth momentum.
Overall, the efficiency of industrial enterprises in the first quarter continued to recover rapidly, but it should also be noted that the trend of the global epidemic and the international environment still face great uncertainty, the recovery among industries remains uneven, and in particular the marked rise in raw material prices is continuously increasing cost pressure on enterprises, so the foundation for the recovery of industrial enterprise efficiency still needs to be further consolidated. In the next stage, it is necessary to continue to maintain the continuity and stability of macro policies, focus on shoring up weak links, tapping potential and enhancing advantages, expand effective demand, improve the quality and efficiency of development, continuously consolidate the foundation for the recovery of the real economy, and promote the sustained, stable and healthy development of the industrial economy.
