Printing Firms Nationwide Investigated for Unauthorized Printing of "100th Anniversary of the CPC" Special Logo

Published:2021-07-01 · Industry News

Improper use of the "100th Anniversary of the Founding of the CPC" emblem is illegal. Recently, the market supervision department of Longwan District, Wenzhou, Zhejiang carried out a special campaign and again uncovered 5 cases of illegal use of the special emblem of the "100th Anniversary of the Founding of the CPC."

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, and amid nationwide celebration, some merchants saw a "business opportunity" and wanted to use the centenary emblem to boost product sales — little knowing that doing so is illegal.

Recently, acting on a report, law enforcement officers conducted an on-site inspection of a tableware company and found that the limited-edition gift-box packaging bags, packaging boxes, gift cards and even the products themselves displayed in the company's exhibit area were all printed with emblems similar to the "Celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China" and the "Special Emblem of the CPC Centenary."

Based on this situation, the Longwan District Market Supervision Bureau quickly organized special campaigns across multiple fields, and at 1 training institution and 2 gift shops seized acts of unauthorized use of the centenary special emblem for commercial purposes and related products, including use of the special emblem on roll-up banners in commercial publicity and marking of the above special emblem on items such as crystal medals and stickers. At present, the Longwan Market Supervision Bureau has filed cases for investigation against the five business entities involved.

As early as early April, four enterprises in Jinxiang Town, Cangnan County, Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province, were investigated and dealt with according to law for printing, producing and selling the emblem of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC and Party history materials.

Over the past two months, market supervision bureaus across the country have carried out intensive investigations of illegal marketing acts of unauthorized printing and use of graphics, text and icons such as "Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the CPC," with more than 100 printing enterprises involved under investigation.

The market supervision department reminds that the "Emblem of the Celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China" may not be used for commercial advertising, trademark production or any other commercial purpose, nor for private celebrations or mourning activities; items made using the celebration emblem as an element must be closely related to the theme of celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, and may not be used indiscriminately or abused. If consumers find that a merchant is suspected of illegally using the "Emblem of the Celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China" in commercial activities, they may call 12345 to report it, and the market supervision department will deal with it seriously according to law.
