Two Printing Firms in Cangnan, Zhejiang Face Administrative Penalties for Environmental Violations
Recently, the Cangnan Branch of the Wenzhou Municipal Ecological Environment Bureau carried out a "major inspection" of the packaging and printing industry in the Jinxiang area, and two printing enterprises were caught on the spot by law enforcement officers for environmental violations. At present, both enterprises have been ordered to rectify immediately and will face corresponding administrative penalties.
Two printing enterprises violate environmental protection laws
When law enforcement officers walked into a printing plant in the Jinxiang Third Industrial Zone, the plant's printing workshop was in production, the workshop door was wide open, and the workshop exhaust fans were blowing outward.
At the scene, the law enforcement officers smelled an obvious printing odor. Opening the electrical box, they found that the circuit breaker of the enterprise's waste gas treatment facility had not been switched on, and the waste gas treatment facility was in a shut-down state.
In addition, when law enforcement officers conducted an inspection on Hongye Road in the Second Industrial Park of Jinxiang Town, they found that the leaves of the green plants beside the exhaust outlet of a color printing plant's waste gas treatment facility were perfectly still, which aroused the officers' suspicion. Entering the enterprise, their suspicion was confirmed,
the enterprise's waste gas treatment facility was indeed not operating normally.
and will face corresponding administrative penalties
Both enterprises are suspected of violating the provisions of Article 45 of the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Atmospheric Pollution: production and service activities that generate waste gas containing volatile organic compounds shall be carried out in enclosed spaces or equipment, and pollution prevention and control facilities shall be installed and used in accordance with regulations; where enclosure is not possible, measures shall be taken to reduce waste gas emissions.
Both enterprises were ordered to rectify immediately and will face corresponding administrative penalties.
During law enforcement, the officers found that some enterprises were not strongly aware of pollution prevention and control in production, assuming that once pollution prevention and control facilities were installed, "everything would be fine." Little did they know that the daily maintenance and normal operation of pollution prevention and control facilities are the top priority of environmental supervision.
In the future, the Cangnan Branch of the Wenzhou Municipal Ecological Environment Bureau will strengthen publicity, continuously reinforce enterprises' environmental awareness, and urge enterprises to properly maintain and operate their pollution prevention and control facilities.
