Coldset Ink Offset Printing Standard

Published:2021-04-16 · Industry News

Proposed by the General Administration of Press and Publication, under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee for Printing Standardization, and jointly drafted and formulated by the Printing Working Committee of the China Newspaper Association, the China Printing Science and Technology Research Institute, the People's Daily Printing Plant, the PLA Daily Printing Plant, the Jiefang Daily Printing Plant, the Yangcheng Evening News Printing Plant and other units, the national standard GB/T17934.3 "Graphic technology — Process control for the production of half-tone colour separations, proofs and production prints — Part 3: Coldset offset lithography on newsprint" has been approved and issued by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine and will be implemented from December 1, 2003.

In recent years, China's newspaper printing, especially color newspaper printing, has developed rapidly. The national standard GB/T14705 "Quality requirements and inspection methods for newspaper prints" promulgated and implemented in 1993 can no longer satisfy the current development of newsprint printing technology and people's requirements for high-quality newspapers. The newly promulgated national standard was formulated on the basis of full investigation and a large amount of measured and validated work, in combination with China's actual situation and with reference to the relevant standard ISO12647-3, and it puts forward quality requirements that both conform to China's current national conditions and are in line with the standard, and it plays an important role in ensuring and promoting the stability and improvement of the quality of China's newsprint prints. The new standard will be published in August and will replace GB/T14705-1993.
