Xinxiang Weihui: China's First Recycled Polyester Film Production Line Nears Official Commissioning

In the circular economy industrial park of Weihui City, Xinxiang, China's first recycled polyester film production line is undergoing final debugging. It can turn waste plastic into recycled polyester film, achieving a green cycle from "bottle" to "film".

"The bottles we collect, after being cleaned, crushed and sorted on Line 2, become the raw material for this production line, and are processed into recycled polyester film products through high-value polyester recycling technology. Overall, both the application scope and the product utilization rate of our products have been improved," Li Hang, deputy manager of the production department of Henan Yinda New Material Co., Ltd., told reporters.

As a provincial key project, the Weihui Circular Economy Industrial Park, after a year of intensive construction, is now about to be officially commissioned.

In Plant No. 1, the newly introduced 8.7-meter-wide PETG film production line is not only the widest recycled polyester film production line in China, but also represents the current leading technical level in the industry, with capacity able to increase by about 25%. The strong growth in market demand further confirms the project's foresight.

"Whether domestic or overseas customers, demand for recycled polyester film has seen qualitative growth. At present, more than 50% of the capacity of this production line is for export," said Zhu Wenzheng, marketing head of Henan Yinda New Material Co., Ltd. "We are now in the trial production stage, but our orders are already booked through the Spring Festival period."

After the project reaches full production, it is expected to achieve an annual comprehensive recycling utilization of 200,000 tons of waste plastic, reduce carbon emissions by more than 300,000 tons, and is expected to drive the green transformation of a number of upstream and downstream manufacturing enterprises. To ensure the smooth progress of the project, the Weihui municipal government has set up a dedicated service team to provide all-round, round-the-clock "nanny-style" service, making every effort to promote the long-term mechanism for assisting enterprises.

"From our investment and construction, from the financial services for the industrial park, to the production of the industrial park, as well as the introduction of the industrial chain, including the landing of other supporting enterprises in the industrial chain, we have formed all-round guidance, including all-round linkage services. Through the extension of the upstream and downstream industrial chain and complete supporting facilities, we can achieve a good start for the enterprises themselves and lay a solid foundation for the start of the '15th Five-Year Plan'," said Li Han, deputy director of the Administrative Committee of the Xinxiang Weihui Advanced Manufacturing Development Zone.
