Development of National Standard for Flexographic Printing Ink Kicks Off in Shanghai

[ppzhan Abstract] The launch meeting for the formulation of the national standard 'Graphic Technology - Colour and Transparency of Printing Ink Sets for Four-Colour Printing - Part 5: Flexographic Printing' was held at the Shanghai Xinmei Huadong Hotel, and more than ten experts from the drafting units attended the meeting.

On July 12, 2013, the launch meeting for the formulation of the national standard 'Graphic Technology - Colour and Transparency of Printing Ink Sets for Four-Colour Printing - Part 5: Flexographic Printing' was held at the Shanghai Xinmei Huadong Hotel. More than ten experts from the drafting units attended the meeting, including Hu Guimian, secretary-general of the National Printing Standardization Technical Committee, and engineer Ma Zhiyong; the Flexographic Printing Branch of the Printing Technology Association of China; Shanghai Printing Technology Research Institute; Xiamen Hexing Packaging Printing Co., Ltd.; Hanghua Ink Chemical Co., Ltd.; Shanghai Yingyao Laser Digital Platemaking Co., Ltd.; Shanghai Ziquan Labels Co., Ltd.; Shanghai Tobacco Packaging Printing Co., Ltd.; and Shandong Dechuang Fine Chemical Technology Co., Ltd.

The meeting was chaired by Zhou Jianbao, vice chairman of the Flexographic Printing Branch and director of the Shanghai Printing Technology Research Institute. Gong Renchou, chairman of the Flexographic Printing Branch, introduced the formulation principles, structural framework and work plan of the national standard 'Graphic Technology - Colour and Transparency of Printing Ink Sets for Four-Colour Printing - Part 5: Flexographic Printing'. Engineer Ma Zhiyong introduced the operating methods and relevant information for formulating this standard. Afterwards, the experts present expressed their respective views on the formulation principles and structural framework of this standard, the determination of the substrate scope, ink types and other relevant parameters, and the determination of testing instruments, conditions and methods.

In his speech, Secretary-General Hu Guimian expressed appreciation and thanks to the Flexographic Printing Branch and the Shanghai Printing Technology Research Institute for organizing this meeting and for their thorough preparation for the launch of the standard. He also gave specific suggestions on the formulation of this standard.

After this meeting, the formulation of the national standard 'Graphic Technology - Colour and Transparency of Printing Ink Sets for Four-Colour Printing - Part 5: Flexographic Printing' will officially begin.
