Introducing advanced corrugated board production lines and building a large integrated automated production workshop

On the afternoon of May 29, in the Qingdao Industrial Park in Yaqueling Town, Yiling District, the more than 10,000-square-meter integrated automated corrugated board production workshop of Hubei Shuang Technology Co., Ltd. is divided into multiple functional zones, and on the long production line a number of busy "big guys" are performing their respective duties and running rapidly.

The first thing that comes into view is the "starting point" of the production line - the raw material for board production, "roll paper". The towering stacks of roll paper are very much representative of this company's character: as a rapidly growing paper packaging manufacturer, it already has the absolute strength to produce all kinds of board and cartons.

"Right now we are in the peak production season, demand for corrugated board and cartons keeps rising, and there are plenty of customer orders. The factory is stepping up production; all these cartons will be loaded onto trucks and shipped out today, and the customers are waiting." Zhou Zhaoming, deputy general manager of Hubei Shuang Technology Co., Ltd., told reporters as he walked along that the factory has introduced an advanced domestic corrugated board production line, that daily capacity for board and cartons has now reached more than 180,000 square meters, and that production has become automated from order generation to the products entering the logistics warehouse.

A corrugated board production line is an assembly line made up of processes in which roll base paper is corrugated, glued, bonded and shaped, scored, and slit into board of specified sizes. It is the key production equipment for corrugated carton manufacturers. Faced with demands from corrugated carton users for many order specifications and fast delivery, it is necessary to raise the degree of automation of the corrugated board production line and improve its production management level, so as to achieve the goals of improving quality, raising efficiency, saving energy, saving manpower, reducing consumables, and reducing waste.

"Today's batch of orders is more than 10,000 sheets of board. We are rushing production and waiting to ship them to Jingmen City." Standing beside the corrugated board production line, workshop supervisor Liu Xingxin told reporters that he is from Yiling District and that a few years ago he quit his job elsewhere and returned home to join Shuang Technology. After entering the factory he still worked in his former specialty, and he is now a person in charge of the corrugated board production line, earning more than 10,000 yuan a month. He is very satisfied with his current job.

Continuously forging core competitiveness, product quality widely recognized by the industry

In March 2011, Hubei Shuang Technology Co., Ltd. was registered and established. In July 2013, Shuang Technology officially moved into the Qingdao Industrial Park in Yiling District, with a plant area of 110 mu, a site area of 75,000 square meters, and a building area of 42,000 square meters.

As an important part of the "one belt, two zones, six parks" industrial economy of Yiling District, Qingdao Industrial Park is located in Yaqueling Town, Yiling District. Today, Qingdao Industrial Park has become an important growth pole of the hundred-billion-yuan industrial economic belt along Xiaoya Road.

At this point, Shuang Technology also entered its second period of development, quickly leaping onto a new development platform. With market development and customer demand, Shuang Technology continuously expands its production scale. In 2013, Shuang Technology introduced a domestically leading Wanlian 2.2-meter seven-layer corrugated board production line. In 2018, it introduced color box equipment, adding 20 million square meters of color printing packaging capacity, able to provide the food, pharmaceutical, liquor and other industries with various forms of color boxes, color cartons, handbags and various types of corrugated board cartons; that year's output value exceeded 180 million yuan. Over the years, Shuang Technology has invested more than 15 million yuan to introduce a waste heat recovery system, an automatic waste paper baling system, an intelligent heating system, an automatic deviation correction system, a fully automatic counting, packing and stacking logistics system, and fully automatic carton and color box manufacturing equipment, achieving automated development of production.

As of now, Shuang Technology has more than 40 sets of various advanced carton forming equipment and 45 transport vehicles, and 180 employees, including 65 professionals and technicians of various kinds. It has gradually grown into an enterprise specializing in the production of two-layer, three-layer, four-layer, five-layer and seven-layer corrugated board cartons, with an annual output of 80 million square meters of board and 40 million square meters of cartons. In 2020, Shuang Technology achieved an output value of more than 200 million yuan and paid more than 3 million yuan in taxes.

Fu Gaoyu is a villager from Group 3 of Tianfan Village, Yaqueling Town. He joined Shuang Technology in 2013 and now works as a boiler operator, earning a monthly wage of more than 4,000 yuan.

Speaking about his current job, Fu Gaoyu said that before coming to work at Shuang Technology he farmed a few mu of land at home and did odd jobs at nearby construction sites in his spare time. Now his job is very stable, his monthly wage is fully sufficient for his family's living needs, and he feels quite a sense of achievement.

Running the enterprise with dedication and relying on industry-based assistance, it has driven local villagers to steadily increase their incomes at their doorstep. To date, Shuang Technology has more than 180 employees, and it has also set up relevant positions to employ people with disabilities, already more than 40 of them. Today, the completely renewed house sits beneath a grove of trees, appearing quiet and comfortable.

As a private enterprise, Shuang Technology has genuinely taken part in targeted assistance and rural revitalization, made active efforts to help local people shake off poverty and become better off, and blazed a path of poverty-alleviation responsibility with its own characteristics as a private enterprise. Entering a third period of development, a series of projects draw up a new blueprint for development

In 2020, the municipal party committee and municipal government defined the municipal-level strategy of "incorporating the building of Yaqueling Town into a carrier zone for high-quality industrial economic development into the city's 14th Five-Year Plan". The 12th plenary session of the 5th Yiling District Party Committee decided to take Xiaoxita, the main urban area of the pilot zone, Longquan Town and Yaqueling Town as three core blocks, and to build Yaqueling Town into a high-quality-development industrial carrier zone. In November 2020, construction began on the first development zone of the Yaqueling Industrial Park, and Yaqueling Town, the eastern gateway, became the main battlefield for building a 10,000-mu park.

Standing within the new pattern of high-quality economic development in Yiling District and closely centering on Yiling District's regional positioning as the "third pole", Shuang Technology has entered its own third period of development and is actively planning and laying out the company's 14th Five-Year development plan.

Ten years to sharpen a sword. In the first ten years of its growth and expansion, Shuang Technology has continuously expanded its business scope and has always provided customers with quality products, technical support and sound services; its main business covers product packaging technology development; processing and sales of paper packaging products and plastic packaging products; purchase, processing and sales of agricultural products; and recycling of renewable resources. Step by step, the parallel progress of all these fields has laid a solid foundation for the company's next stage of development.

In May this year, Shuang Technology invested more than 6 million yuan to build a paper cup and paper bowl project, aiming to start production on the line in October. And this is just one of the company's new investment projects.

Energy-saving stove projects, cold chain logistics projects, waste heat power generation projects... a series of projects are racing one another, successively entering their own development tracks and launching construction in full swing.
